Let’s be honest: standard infrared lamps are great until you’re staring at a non-standard bending furnace. If your machine footprint is tight, you can’t just shove a stock lamp into a space it wasn’t made for. It doesn’t fit, it doesn’t work, and it’s a headache. That’s why we just build them to fit. We customize the length and shape of the heating elements so they actually slide into your specific chassis without a fight.
It’s more than just “fitting in the slot”
When we change the length of a tube, we aren’t just cutting glass. We’re changing the wattage per centimeter. If we shorten a tube to fit a tight corner, we recalibrate the voltage and wattage. Why? Because nobody wants cold spots in the curve of a bottle. You want that heat to be consistent. Now, high-density heat means you warm up faster. That’s the win. But here’s the catch: keep an eye on your power supply. A high-wattage custom array pulls a lot of current. Just double-check that your wiring and breakers can handle the peak load so you don’t trip a switch in the middle of a run.
The gear and the grit
We use high-purity quartz glass. It has to be, otherwise the thermal shock from rapid cycling would just wreck the lamps. For those weird, irregular shapes, we bend the tubes to follow the profile of the bottle. This gets the heat source closer to the glass, which means you lose less radiation. It’s just more efficient. As for the connections, you can go with standard R7s or SK15 depending on how your control panel is wired. And if you’re just replacing an old system, we’ll match your existing lead lengths. No need to spend your afternoon re-routing cables.
A few things to keep in mind
Custom shapes are great for hitting specific zones, but they do create localized hot spots. It’s the trade-off for that targeted heat. You’ll probably need to spend a little time tuning your PID controllers and airflow. You don’t want the glass overheating. We provide the hardware that fits your tightest spaces, but getting the thermal balance just right depends on how your furnace breathes.
